Dear Parent of Year 9 pupil
It is with regret that I wish to inform you that from tomorrow (Wednesday 8th December) and for the reminder of this week, all Year 9 pupils will be required to revert to remote learning and work from home rather than in school. This is not a decision I have taken lightly but is necessary due to the significant staff shortages the school is currently experiencing due to Covid-related issues and illnesses.
This temporary measure will allow the school to function as normal for the younger children in Years 7 and 8 and also for those who will be facing examinations in this academic year.
During this period, pupils in Year 9 should continue to use the TEAMS facility to access their learning, following their usual timetable. Teachers will endeavour to be on hand to support pupils but, for the reasons outlined above, may be redeployed. Pupils should use the chat room facility on TEAMS to raise any questions they have about the activities and learning.
We thank you for your understanding at this time. This approach will be reviewed at the end of the week and I will update by 3pm on Friday as to the arrangements for the final week of the Autumn term
Yours faithfully
Mrs Helen Jones (Headteacher)
